Rally Detail

Welcome to the 2011 Mississippi State H.O.G. Rally
October 27-29, 2011 – Just in time for Halloween!

Our Host Hotel is the Drury Inn 735 Goodman Rd W. Horn Lake, MS. Free HOT breakfast every morning and FREE hot food and beverages at 5:30pm each evening. This is only 2.4 miles form the Desoto Civic Center and Southern Thunder Harley-Davidson.

The Desoto Civic Center 4560 Venture Dr. Southaven, MS will be the hub of our Rally. The majority of our events will take place inside or in the parking lot of the Civic Center.

Registration will be held at the Desoto Civic Center and opens on Thursday Oct. 27 at noon and will close at 8:00pm; On Fri. Oct 28 registration opens at 8:00am and will close at 6:00pm; On Sat. Oct 29 registration opens at 8:00am and closes at 4:00pm.

Southern Thunder Harley-Davidson is next door to the Desoto Civic Center. The Dealer Party as well as the Ride in Bike Show will be on Friday at the dealership.

In March of this year, Southern Thunder was awarded the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver Certified building. This is one of only two Harley dealerships in the country to be awarded this distinguished award. If you haven’t toured the new store you are in for a treat.

The Casinos are just a short ride away in Tunica, MS., if you are in need of your gambling fix. Or you can stop by the Tunica River Park Museum for a stroll along the walk way or even take a short ride on the Tunica Queen Riverboat.

Of course we cannot forget Graceland, the Mecca of all things Elvis. Tickets will be sold at the registration site for a tour on Saturday morning. You’ve got to tour Graceland at least one time in your life. It is a pretty cool place to visit. A ride will be planned to Tupelo if you want to total Elvis experience.

A trip to the Mid-South would not be complete without a stop at Sun Studio where all of the greats got their start or at least recorded there. The tour is $10.00 and the best tour in town, (other than Graceland). Just a few streets over is the world famous Beale St. where the blues run deep and still echo through the streets. Gibson Guitar and the Rock and Soul Museum are also on Beale St.

What we want to do most is ride. You will not be disappointed. We may not have the mountains, but we do have our share of wonderful country roads to clear you mind and enjoy the ride.

Finally to round out the rally we will hold a Costume Contest. Who doesn’t like Halloween? Remember when you were little and dressed up for trick-or-treating? Let’s go back there and really do this right. The sky is the limit, use your imagination. Prizes for Most Original, Scariest and more. Let your hair down and join the fun.
